The Vision of M.A.M.I.
"The purpose of M.A.M.I. is to establish, train, equip, encourage and financially support Crisis Pregnancy Centers in Romania (M.A.M.A) to share God's compassion and provision to those facing an unexpected pregnancy and uphold the sanctity of human life."
Our mission is the direct intervention through counselling abortion minded and abortion vulnerable women not to kill their baby and with the aid of the holy spirit to bring mothers and fathers to eternal life in Jesus Christ.
Why:
  • The first law passed in Romania after the December 26th, 1989 revolution was the legalization of abortions
  • Since then, more than 16 million abortions have been performed
  • Today, 3 out of every 4, of pregnancies are terminated by an abortion
  • Currently Romania has Europe's highest abortion rate, 75%, and has only recently lost first place in the world to Vietnam

Our History:

ImageM.A.M.I., the name we use in the US, was conceived in my heart by God on February 23, 2002 in Hollywood, Florida. I am so grateful that God did not choose me based on my knowledge or abilities, but based on what He could do through me. I received the call from God to do what I had never trained for, done, nor dreamed of doing before: to facilitate a way to help women in Romania who were going through the crisis of an unplanned and unwanted pregnancy (a crisis I went through 18 years before, see Lucia's testimony by clicking here). This call was followed by a year of intense preparation and gathering of information, but even more important, a time in which God performed surgery on my heart, reforming me by cutting away all that I had accumulated as a result of disobedience toward His plan. This was a very painful process but was all worth it. During this time God was also preparing two other hearts, so that when all was ready, Miorika Cristea and my daughter Rebeka Petrila joined me on this journey. Although the road was unknown and treacherous, we knew that God was going ahead of us as our guide.

ImageOn June 1, 2003 our first crisis pregnancy center was born in Arad, under the name M.A.M.A., the name our ministry uses in Romania. During this first year, operating only 20 hours a week, God enabled the counselors to give the good news of the Gospel to more than 200 women. Of the women who had a positive pregnancy test, 16 babies were born and are now being nurtured by the love and care of their mothers. A year later, on June 8, 2004, a second center came into being in Hunedoara, where God allowed us the privilege and joy to lead 5 people to salvation through Christ during the first week of operation. In just one counseling session three people were saved, the father and mother from eternal damnation, and a baby from being mercilessly murdered. All honor and glory is due Him for this joy. Only two months later, on August 9, 2004, we opened a new center in Alba Iulia. This wonderful work which in the beginning was just a small, insignificant and unnoticed snow ball, continued to grow as it kept on rolling and became a big mission field. To these three centers, January 1, 2005 brought two new sisters, Brasov and Suceava. These last two centers were part of an organization called Iochebed, which on this date came under the umbrella of M.A.M.I. I believe that this association had been known to God in His providence even before we were approached with the idea, and He wanted us to unite forces so that the Good News of the Gospel might reach even more people. And on August 7, 2006 we opened a new center M.A.M.A. in Deva.

September 22. 2012, the Lord has blessed us with a new center in Resita.

To God be the glory !!!

Victory comes through prayer and the most pressing need of the five M.A.M.A. / Iochebed centers is daily prayer, because Satan is working very hard to cause confusion, to prevent and if possible to even stop and destroy this ministry.
